I’m a Georgia wife, Mom, swimmer and bargain shopper who loves God, beach sunsets and getting together with friends and family. When I’m not writing, I read, watch movies, try out new recipes or study alternative medicine. I enjoy writing mystery and suspense with a touch of romance and want my characters come to life in interesting settings. With goals to meet and problems to solve, the heroes and heroines trust God to help them navigate our complicated world. Storytelling involves me in their lives and takes me away the from the day-to-day grind. My wish is it will do the same for my readers.
A 2013 Grace Awards finalist, I’m a Reader’s Favorite 2017 Book Award winner, a TopShelf 2020 Book Awards Finalist and a Top Author Pick for Hidden Danger. I’ve published ten books, short stories and several hundred articles. Some of my articles appear in anthologies while two are in museums.
From Make Believe to Fiction Books
As a youngster I was a huge fan of Nancy Drew. Talking to other people was almost as much fun as making up stories. To this day, it’s difficult for me to sit beside someone in a waiting room and not speak with her or him. I want to learn their stories, the walks in life they’re experiencing and where their interests lie. Even in this digital age I’ve found most people will put away their cell phones to talk to another person. As a teen I couldn’t get enough of Alfred Hitchcock movies. In college a professional writing class sparked my desire to write fiction. Alas, when I graduated, I had to pay my bills with a steady income, so I worked as an editor and copywriter. Then, I married, helped my husband with his business, and wrote freelance articles.
Finally, the time arrived for me to write fiction. After floundering while trying to find my way in the publishing world, I saw American Christian Fiction Writers online and joined. I belonged to a critique group and went to conferences, where I attended workshops. I’m grateful for the friends I’ve met along the way, many who have helped me hone my writing, and I’m especially thankful for my readers.

Five-star review from Connie C: While Emily seeks peace and rest after being left at the altar, she instead finds herself in the middle of a dangerous mystery and works with the park ranger, who provides some wonderful romance for the story. At first she would have liked to leave for safer ground, but there’s a temporary gas shortage and Emily doesn’t have enough to get home. She’s stuck in this remote area for a while, and accepting that, she finds she’s much braver than she thought as she becomes a key player in finding clues and helping to bring the guilty to justice. I loved how her face-to-face encounter with the criminal worked out. Little Roy was a pleasant surprise although I would not care to meet him–ever! Except on the pages of this book.
If you enjoy suspense and danger, but not overly scary, you will enjoy this book. If you like romance with your suspense, this one is for you. And there’s a happy ending and an epilogue so the ending is complete, which is always a plus for me. I do recommend this book highly. It kept my attention all the way through. Give it a try. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Stranded in a car in a snowstorm starts this adventure into the unknown. Now I’m not a huge fan of driving alongside a mountain, but during a snow storm is even more unlikely for me. The author gave me chills as I read how Ruthie finds herself trapped on the edge of a road with her car inches from falling into a death trap. When Ruthie meets Moose, she realizes that her only way to survive is to go with him into the mountains to wait for help.
Moose seems like a great person but I couldn’t help wondering why Ruthie even for a second would go off with a stranger. When your instincts to survive kick in, she had no choice. As they venture off they run into someone who is dangerous. This person is not happy that he has been discovered and now Ruthie and Moose are on the run from him.
As I read the book I had to question why this stranger would continue to follow our main characters. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just let them go and find another place for to hide from authorities? This tells me that he is desperate and is not thinking clearly. What has he done that would cause him to risk everything to go after Ruthie and Moose? Well folks this shows how the author captures readers with a story intensely written and delves into the mind of someone who will do anything to keep himself from being captured by the police.
The story takes a turn that gives readers an illustration of God placing you in someone’s path for a reason. The ending is where you will find the beauty of faith, forgiveness and hope. I like how the author adds a character that needed guidance. When our characters are trapped will they seek God for direction? I would love to see this book made into a movie.

This story starts with a bang, well, bad weather and auto accidents, almost going over the railing into, well, it wasn’t their time. Moose comes to Ruthie’s rescue, and their lives will never be the same.
Soon you’ll find yourself ducking bullets and not know when you’re going to be warm again.
I loved how these two go about touching other lives all the while they are trying to survive.
With bullets flying, and no matter how far they flee, they seem to be found with more bullets, and cold! This is a fast paced, full of action read, and a page turner for answers!
This is a faith based read, and when the answers come, and in the end there is a strong feeling of forgiveness. There is also a sweet romance!

This book pulled me right in and kept me turning the pages. The mix of suspense, survival, and just a touch of romance made it a really fun read. I felt like I was right there in the storm with Ruthie and Moose, trying to figure out what would happen next. The scenes were so clear, I could picture the snow, the forest, and even feel the cold.
I really liked the characters too. Ruthie came across as down-to-earth and easy to relate to, while Moose was tough but also caring. Watching them depend on each other and grow closer while facing such scary situations made the story even better. The faith element and theme of forgiveness gave it heart without being heavy-handed.
By the end, I didn’t want to put it down. It had action, danger, and heartwarming moments all in one. If you enjoy suspense that isn’t too dark, with characters you can root for, you’ll really enjoy this one.

The story grabbed my attention right away with the opening scene in the library parking lot, and I felt pulled into Emily’s fear and uncertainty immediately. The setting in the North Carolina mountains added a nice atmosphere, and the suspense built steadily as the mystery unfolded. I liked Emily as a main character — she felt real and relatable — and Nick made a strong, steady partner both in the investigation and emotionally.
The mystery had enough twists to keep me guessing without becoming confusing. I liked how the stolen items, the stalker, and the undercover investigation all connected in the end. Hucklesford was a fun addition and added some light moments to balance the tension — he made me smile more than once when things were getting intense. There were a couple moments where I told myself, “Okay, just one more chapter,” and suddenly it was much later than I planned.
I also appreciated how faith was woven into the story in a sincere way. It added depth to the characters and their decisions without overpowering the plot.
