Tony Obinna Nwoye

Short Author Bio

Tony Obinna Nwoye is an author, philosopher, technology entrepreneur, and banking executive whose work explores the intersection of human judgment, ethics, technology, and institutional systems. With more than seven years of experience in digital banking operations, compliance, and financial technology, he has led major operational and digital transformation initiatives within the banking sector.

Tony is the author of four published nonfiction books, including Getting Things Right: Law of Proper Decision and Living Through a Difficult Moment. His debut literary novel, The Algorithmic Heart, examines the relationship between artificial intelligence and humanity in an increasingly automated world.

Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Tony enjoys reading philosophy, studying emerging technologies, writing, and exploring ideas about consciousness, identity, and the future of human civilization. He believes storytelling remains one of humanity’s most powerful tools for understanding ourselves and shaping the future.

About Me

I am a writer, philosopher, entrepreneur, and banking professional with a lifelong fascination for ideas, human decision-making, and the systems that shape our lives.

My journey as a writer began long before publication. I have always been fascinated by the questions people rarely stop to ask: Why do we make the choices we make? How do institutions influence human behavior? What happens when technology begins making decisions once reserved for human beings? These questions eventually became the foundation of both my professional career and my writing.

I studied Philosophy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where I developed a deep appreciation for critical thinking, ethics, logic, and the enduring search for meaning. After graduation, I built a career in banking and financial operations, working across digital banking, compliance, account management, and operational leadership. Over the years, I have managed complex systems, led teams, and witnessed firsthand how technology increasingly shapes human decisions and societal outcomes.

My early published works focused on personal responsibility, resilience, and decision-making. Books such as Getting Things Right: Law of Proper Decision and Living Through a Difficult Moment emerged from my desire to help readers navigate uncertainty and make better choices in their personal and professional lives.

As technology advanced, my interests expanded toward artificial intelligence, digital identity, and the future relationship between machines and humanity. These themes inspired The Algorithmic Heart, my first literary novel. Through fiction, I explore questions that are often difficult to address through nonfiction alone: What happens when algorithms become trusted more than people? Can technology understand human complexity? And where does responsibility lie when systems fail?

Beyond writing, I am the founder of Conscious AI Shadow, a technology company focused on digital twin systems, identity intelligence, workforce automation, and advanced memory technologies. My work in technology continuously inspires my writing, and my writing often challenges me to think more deeply about the technologies we are creating.

I write because stories allow us to explore possibilities before they become reality. They help us examine ourselves, question assumptions, and imagine better futures. Whether through nonfiction or fiction, my goal is always the same: to encourage readers to think deeply, act wisely, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them.

Tony’s Books

What would you give up to erase your debt?

In a world where memories are currency, financial freedom comes at a devastating cost.

Elara is one of the most trusted memory brokers in the world. Her job is simple: help clients trade away their most valuable memories to clear their debts. Birthdays, first loves, childhood milestones—even the moments that define who they are—can be sold, transferred, and forgotten forever.

For years, Elara believed the system worked flawlessly.

Then she discovers a fragment of memory that shouldn’t exist.

As strange voices, missing identities, and unexplainable connections begin surfacing throughout the network, Elara uncovers a truth the world’s most powerful corporation has spent decades hiding: memories are never truly erased. Something remains. Something impossible to price, transfer, or control.

As millions of stolen fragments begin searching for one another, the entire foundation of society threatens to unravel. Because the system can take memories—but it cannot destroy the bonds that created them.

Now Elara must confront the greatest deception ever sold to humanity and decide whether the future belongs to those who control the past—or to those who refuse to forget.

Memory Debt is a thought-provoking science fiction thriller about identity, love, memory, and the human connections that no system can commodify.

Perfect for fans of Black Mirror, Severance, The Memory Police, and philosophical speculative fiction that lingers long after the final page. AMAZON
