Author of Christian fiction and Science Fiction: Rob Williams, currently residing in Nacogdoches Texas, has served in multiple roles supporting the Christian community. Included in this long list of mentorships was his service as youth director of an inner-city church in Atlanta and working with children in some of the toughest housing projects in that city. Rob worked at a rehabilitation center for five years, where he became acquainted with the homeless. The center helped those on work release from jail and those who were physically and mentally handicapped. He has taught adult Sunday school classes for more than thirty years and led youth in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts for twenty years. Retired from the high-tech industry in Huntsville Alabama, he writes Christian fiction and science fiction in his free time. Rob is a husband, the father of four, and a grandfather. He is the author of the three novel Brandon Springs Christian fiction series, the dystopian science fiction novel Sins of Variance, the Christian fictional crime novel Gathering of Six, and Christian mystery Cabin by the Stream.
Courage comes in various forms. This small book contains a couple of nonfictional stories and one fictional story about courage. Heroes walk among us. Not all of them are given medals and parades, and some never tell others about their courageous acts.
Courage Remembered: A true story about a selfless nurse who saved the life of the author in the street after he suffered a severe motorcycle accident. With her courageous act, she saved not only his life – but those of his unborn children and grandchildren.
Change Came to Madison County: A true story regarding the dramatic changes impacting Huntsville, AL (Madison County) during the 20th century. A small cotton textile town became the center of NASA, and its population boomed to become a thriving city. The author remembers the courage of his father, a white man from Mississippi, who acted to defend a threatened neighboring African American family during the early 60s.
Elva Bevington – Navy Nurse: The author was blessed to have known an unsung heroine of WWII, Elva Bevington. She worked as a psychiatric nurse, helping those whose minds and emotions had been twisted by the horrors of war.
Courage Required: The fictional short story which became the basis for the author’s secular dystopian/Sci-fi novel Sins of Variance. The story takes place five hundred years in the future, where society is nothing like ours today. Society attempts to ban all variation because it has determined it to be the root cause of all problems. People are cloned, and love-based marriages have been replaced with the system joining a man with a woman to raise an assigned child. The main character finds that he has developed paternal love for this cloned daughter and he struggles to cope with this “personal defect.”
A Sense of Ichabod: This fictional story was roughly based on actual events, and it deals with the times in which the presence of God seems absent. What do you do when we absolutely feel spiritually alone in this world? In times of tragedy, people often feel abandoned by God. It takes courage to remain steadfast with God when it feels as if there is no use. AMAZON
Science fiction often envisions a future tinged with pessimism, drawing parallels from our current societal concerns. Yet, amidst the warning signals, the endurance of empathy holds the key to unlocking genuine hope. Empathy, in its essence, fosters not just survival but the conditions for thriving. It’s a unifying force, transcending divisions.
In “Sins of Variance” by Rob Williams, we encounter a crossroads in a future fraught with challenging choices for humanity. Williams presents a world where genetic modifications aim to eliminate conflict, prompting reflection on the repercussions of such success, particularly the neutralization of emotional experiences.
As we approach a century marked by the advent of true artificial intelligence and the need for mankind to coexist harmoniously with evolving technology, the questions raised by the author gain immediacy. It becomes paramount to address these inquiries today, for failure to do so may lead to a future where our species succumbs to a relentless erosion of hope. In such a world, survival becomes a privilege reserved for the powerful, threatening the very fabric of our existence. AMAZON

An investigation into the kidnapping of an Atlanta waitress by the local police and the FBI becomes deadly while shadowy forces move with unimaginable arrogance below the radar.
Humans yearn to know secrets; it’s in our nature.
An unlikely duo, a daughter of one of the wealthiest families and a relatively poor construction worker, stumble unto a secret society with the ability to shape world events. Like chess masters moving pieces across a board, members of this group position elements of the world as they implement a radical design planned over several centuries -an ultimate restructuring of the world.
Just as the world isn’t as it seems to be on the surface, people can be much more interesting if we look much deeper. Though worlds apart in education and privilege, Sam and Megan find that they are similar souls.
