About the author
Stories have always fascinated me. I love that words can capture a feeling or emotion and then spark that same emotion in a reader’s heart. Bringing the horse people I know and love to life on the page brings me great joy. I can’t wait to introduce readers to heroes and heroines who still live by the Code of the West in today’s fast-paced world.
I was born in South Dakota and now call California home. Horses have been part of my life from the very beginning. Over the years, I’ve served as a 4-H leader, coordinated the California High School Rodeo Queen program, competed in team roping with my husband, and most recently taken up team sorting and trailing cow dogs. Life stays busy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I earned a degree in agriculture from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, but my passion for writing opened unexpected doors. The California State Office of Emergency Services recognized my work formalizing techniques and practices for mounted search and rescue with a Commendation. I also received a regional service award from the Romance Writers of America.
Whether I’m teaching beginners to ride, showing them how to work cattle, or helping them learn to rope, I always find new inspiration for my stories. My heroes are cowboys. My heroines are strong. And every romance celebrates traditional values, enduring love, and the spirit of the American West.
Alexandria Payne didn’t claw her way to the top of the corporate world by playing nice. A brilliant, ruthless corporate raider, she built her reputation on hostile takeovers and ironclad contracts.
Jackson Morgan has spent his life in the saddle. He trains elite cutting horses and fights every day to protect the ranch he built with dust, sweat, and grit.
To secure the business deal she wants, Alexandria must win over the one man standing in her way. Her only chance is to learn the art of cutting horses and impress her target. She pays a premium to train with Jackson, the best in the business.
What begins as a business arrangement quickly turns into a battle of wills. Neither Alexandria nor Jackson intends to give an inch. But as pride gives way to passion, Alexandria discovers that some things matter more than profit margins. Jackson, in turn, realizes the woman he once considered his enemy may be the only one who truly understands the price of chasing a dream.
As the stakes rise in the cutting arena, they’ll have to decide what matters most—a deal worth millions or a love neither expected to find.
In the Idaho wilderness, some battles demand more than grit.
Max has built his life as an outfitter in the rugged backcountry he loves. He guides hunters, anglers, and adventurers through sweeping valleys and towering mountains. The wilderness is his legacy, his livelihood, and the only place he’s ever truly called home. Now Congress wants to turn the land into a national park, threatening everything he has worked to build.
Annie serves as an Idaho ranger and has devoted her life to protecting the land she explored with her father as a child. Every river, meadow, and mountain holds precious memories. Tasked with evaluating the region’s future, she hopes to preserve its natural beauty. But the local residents—including Max—don’t trust her or the government she represents.
From the moment they meet, Annie and Max stand on opposite sides of a battle neither can afford to lose. Long days in the saddle and nights beneath a sky full of stars slowly erode the walls between them. When an unknown enemy threatens them both, they discover they must fight side by side instead of against each other.
Saving the wilderness may require the greatest sacrifice of all. To protect the land they love, Annie and Max must risk their hearts and discover that love, like the wilderness itself, is a future worth fighting for.
