About the author
It is fascinating to me that something as abstract as a feeling or emotion can be put into print form and then magically produce the same emotion when a reader reads. Bringing life to the horsey people I know and love is exciting for me and I can’t wait to share heroes and heroines who live the code of the West in today’s fast-paced world.
I was born in South Dakota but now live in California. I’ve been a horse nut from the word go, and have always been involved in some sort of horsey activity from 4-H leader, to Queen coordinator for California High School Rodeo, to team roping with my husband. We have recently started team sorting and trailing cow dogs. Life continues to be fast-paced and fun.
I graduated with a degree in agriculture from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, but my love of writing has led me to a Commendation by the California State Office of Emergency Services for formalizing techniques and practices in mounted search and rescue and a regional service award from the Romance Writers of America.
Whether I’m teaching beginners to ride, or teaching them to work a cow or rope, I keep an eye out for interesting things to write about. Of course, all my heroes are cowboys, all my women are strong, and all my romances have traditional values at heart.
Alexandria Payne didn’t claw her way to the top of the financial food chain by playing nice. A brilliant, ruthless corporate raider, she’s built her reputation on hostile takeovers and ironclad contracts.
Jackson Morgan has spent his life in the saddle, training elite cutting horses and fighting to keep the ranch he bought and built from dust, sweat, and grit.
The only way Alexandria can manipulate the man, whose business she needs, is to learn to ride a cutting horse and impress her target. She pays an exorbitant price to learn from Jackson, the best.
Alexandria and Jackson find themselves locked in a battle of wills neither expected—and neither can afford to lose. But as pride gives way to passion, Alexandria see there’s more at stake than profit margins, and Jackson discovers the woman he thought was his enemy may be the one who truly understands the cost of a dream.
In a cutting showdown, they’ll have to decide what’s worth fighting for: the deal of a lifetime—or a love neither of them saw coming. AMAZON
In the Idaho wilderness, some battles are fought with more than just grit.
Max built his life as an outfitter in the rugged backcountry he loves—guiding hunters, anglers, and dreamers through sweeping valleys and mountains. The land is his legacy, his livelihood, the only place he’s ever truly belonged. Now Congress plans to turn his wilderness into a National Park and threatens to change everything he holds dear.
Annie, an Idaho Ranger, has sworn to protect this land—every river bend, every hidden meadow, every soaring ridge she shared as a child with her Father. She’s assigned to assess the region to determine its best use, and intends to preserve the wilderness. Her biggest problem is that the locals, including Max, don’t trust her motives or the government.
At first, Annie and Max find themselves on opposite sides of a fight neither can afford to lose. Yet long days in the saddle and nights beneath a star-lit sky, fighting an unknown enemy, blur the division between them; before long, they must challenge their beliefs by fighting together for the same goal.
Saving the wilderness might mean surrendering their hearts—and discovering that love, like the land itself, is a future worth fighting for. AMAZON
Maleea James has built her life on control. As one of the most sought-after models in the world, she commands runways, headlines, and the kind of contracts most people only dream about. Love? Love is a liability—messy, unpredictable, and bad for branding.
Boone Tucker wants an educated wife to share his life and dreams. Well-known in gold rush San Francisco, he is a practical businessman man, who’s done the practical thing: arranged for a mail-order bride. She arrives a day late, and the wedding takes place quickly. Boone comes to bed, ready to be a husband, but finds Maleea, a sharp-tongued beauty who is everything Boone didn’t order—and everything he can’t ignore.
Married to a stranger and waking up stranded in 1852 San Francisco, a city of fortune hunters, fire, and forbidden dreams, where corsets replace couture and survival matters more than looking good, Maleea must trade stilettos for sturdy shoes and learn the greatest lesson of her life.
In a land built on second chances, the greatest risk isn’t losing gold—it’s losing your heart. AMAZON
